Life is So Hard

I love the fact that I live such a privileged life that I can complain about extremely trivial things. "Dammit, they moved House up to 8 instead of 9. How will I ever remember that? And I missed half of the premiere of The Office last week! Now I'll have to watch it ONLINE. *Heavy sigh.* Life is soooo hard."

This is especially nice when you realize that, the way the economy is headed, we will all soon be eating our shoes for dinner. So, allow me to briefly reflect on some of the things that I am grateful to be able to complain about. I would like to look back on them in the future when I have more important things to worry about, like not being able to afford groceries, and whether or not I can make a stew out of leaves and acorns. (Although, really, who am I kidding? I won't even be able to read this at that time, because when the economic apocalypse is upon us, the internet will implode.) Ok, here you are:

Things I'm Grateful to Complain About
1) No designer in the known universe has ever designed a pair of pants with me in mind. All of these choices, and yet none of them conforms perfectly to my unique and special body.
2) Having to come to my relatively well-paying job and sit for many hours, in front of a computer, where I am submitted to only the barest of supervision. Did you know that I'm typing this at 3 in the afternoon? (Note to employers: please do not fire me. I promise that everything is getting done. Work first, play later, am I right? Ha.)
3) Air conditioning. Why is it so cold in here?? Damn this conditioned air!
4) The price of gas to put in my car, which is entirely paid for, for which my parents still pay the insurance, and with which I have the option to take long trips at a moment's notice.
5) Having to drive sooooo far to see my boyfriend, who is handsome and smart and perfect, and really doesn't live that far away after all.
6) Why can't I just take a nap?!?
7) What to do with my free time - my sweet, delicious free time that is not currently consumed by homework or court dates or children.
8) Speaking of homework -- applying to grad school.
9) My parents, who love my brother and I very much, and who are still happily married.

Seriously, life is HARD.

But I guess it's also kind of awesome.
