Phoning It In, Just Like Britney!

Add this one to the list of pop songs that I have been horrified to find myself singing along with.

Although it deeply saddens me to know that, for the next few days, I'll probably wake up singing this DAMN SONG, it's kind of encouraging, too. It serves as a reminder that I can do anything! I too could be a pop star, if I just repeated the same word 79 times, under-enunciated, and in a near monotone.

To be honest though, I'm kind of proud of Britney, because if the only thing we have to criticize these days is her most recent single, her life is definitely on the upswing. There's a lesson in this, too: if you ever feel like people are being too hard on you, just have a prolonged, extremely public breakdown. Once you recover from that, people will be high-fiving you just for wearing underwear, and you'll probably never have to do the dishes again.

Incidentally, you know how sometimes you'll be driving down the road with your radio tuned to the local pop station, and suddenly you catch yourself singing along with a song that you completely hate (but for some reason you know all the words to), and you don't even want to hear this song anymore, much less sing along to it, and yet you just cannot bring yourself to interrupt it by changing the station?

I think that's what hell is like.

Oh man. It happens to the best of us.

P.S. Are you going to be around for homecoming, perchance?
