So just now I was reading an interview between The Bloggess and Danny Evans of Dad Gone Mad and one of the questions she asked him was "If you had to lose a toe, which one would it be and why?" and then he responded with some stuff about how his "third and fourth toes on [his] left foot are webbed." For some reason, reading the phrase "third and fourth toes" and trying to imagine which toes those are got me REALLY VERY confused, and all of a sudden I wasn't sure if I have 4 toes on each foot or 5, and I was sitting here trying to rationalize the idea that I only have 4 toes, like, "Well yeah, in theory it seems like it should be 5 toes since I have 5 fingers, but since my feet don't have thumbs, that must be where the 5th one went... it became unnecessary when we started walking upright, and then it just evolved away." But then that still didn't sound right to me so I almost panicked and ripped my shoe off right here in my office (wait! I mean my living room!) just so I could count my toes and settle the whole thing.
And then I realized I was being insane and so I decided to just come get it all out on the blog. Happy Monday!
