Gratitude, Day 15

Let's do this!

1) Today I went to the library for the first time in a loooong time. Oh man, I love the library. I love the way it smells like old books and the way it looks like the set of an educational film from the 70s or 80s and the feeling I get that I could learn everything in the world if I just spent enough time there. Do kids these days even go to libraries anymore? Children! I implore you, get yourself to a library! Read some books that don't belong to you! Borrow a VHS to watch on a rainy day! Bah. Kids.

2) I also found out today that my cousin has her own blog. Two of them, actually. And apparently she's a really good cook and she's crafty and bakes a lot of cupcakes. This is a much better revelation than when I found out that she was a Republican. I spent a lot of time reading her blogs this afternoon and it was a nice feeling, realizing that she's been out there having this full and exciting life that I wasn't even aware of. It's always uplifting, somehow, to find out that you're related to someone who's doing a good job at life. Makes you feel like there's potential in your genes, ya know?

3) I'm watching one of the 90 brazilian specials about the Duggar family right now. For sure, their intense devotion to single-handedly overpopulating the world is nuts. But it also seems like they're really sweet people, fundamentally. Obviously I can't say for sure because I've never met them, but just now I want to hug Michelle Duggar, with her sweet giggle and her poor overworked uterus. And the reason I'm grateful for that is because hugs are enjoyable.

4) Bought me an eyelash curler this evening. Prepare to get FANCY.

5) And finally, I'm grateful for the elf-magic that makes internet games like Zombie Hooker Nightmare possible.

The end.
